Customer Alert – Holiday Phishing E-mails

We have learned of phishing e-mails using the Nordstrom name that ask the recipient to click a link and claim a $500 shopping spree or gift card prize. Please be aware that Nordstrom is not involved in these “shopping spree alerts” and is not affiliated with these e-mails.

E-mails from unknown sources that ask you to claim a prize in return for clicking a link may be an attempt to fraudulently collect your personal or financial information.

Customer Alert – Unauthorized E-mails About eyeslipsface.com

Some of our customers have received e-mails from an unauthorized and unknown source regarding the website eyeslipsface.com. We have contacted the owner of eyeslipsface.com and determined that these e-mails are the product of a party unrelated to either Nordstrom or eyeslipsface.com.

Neither Nordstrom nor Nordstrom.com is affiliated with eyeslipsface.com or the e.l.f. product line. Nordstrom does not sell e.l.f. products.

Fraud Scheme – Global Evaluation & Marketing Services

A company identifying itself as Global Evaluation & Marketing Services has contacted at least one customer in an attempt to solicit personal information. The company provides a check appearing to be from Nordstrom, and asks the recipient to participate in an alleged Consumer Research Program for payment.

Please know that Nordstrom is not affiliated with Global Evaluation & Marketing Services, and has not authorized these activities. A third party is using the Nordstrom name without permission, and we would never provide payment for vendor services in this manner.

If you have responded to such a mailing or provided any personal information, please take all necessary precautions to safeguard yourself and your financial information. You may wish to contact a credit reporting agency, your bank, your local law enforcement and the Federal Trade Commission online at: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt127.shtm.

Email Scheme – Corporate Charitable Donations

During times of crisis Nordstrom recognizes how important it is to help those in need, and we know that many of our customers feel the same way. Unfortunately, during such situations, there are often increased reports of fraudulent activity and attempts to collect personal or financial through e-mail. Some such schemes may even claim affiliation with Nordstrom in a deceptive effort to collect donations, asking for personal and financial information.

Please know that Nordstrom does not solicit charitable donations in this manner, nor would we request any personal or financial information from our customers through e-mail.

Fraud Alert – Nordstrom Careers, Inc. / CareerBuilder.com

We recently learned of individuals receiving fraudulent recruiting e-mails claiming to be from Nordstrom Careers, Inc., in conjunction with CareerBuilder.com. These e-mails are an attempt to solicit information and/or money from the recipient by offering employment cashing checks on behalf of Nordstrom.

Neither Nordstrom nor CareerBuilder have authorized or are involved in these activities. A third party is using the names of Nordstrom and CareerBuilder without permission. We have reported this fraudulent activity to the Federal Trade Commission.

Should you receive a similar communication, please contact the Federal Trade Commission online at: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/alerts/alt127.shtm. If you have responded or previously provided any personal information, you may have compromised your personal identity. Please take all necessary precautions to safeguard yourself and your financial information. You may choose to contact a credit reporting agency to obtain a copy of your credit report and place a fraud alert on your credit file.
