Name of Product: Bugaboo Bee Strollers


Units: About 22,500


Distributor: Bugaboo North America Inc., of Hermosa Beach, Calif.


Manufacturer: Bugaboo Design & Sales, B.V., of the Netherlands


Hazard: One or both sides of the brakes can fail, causing a stroller to unexpectedly roll away on an incline. This can pose a risk of injury to the child occupant.


Incidents/Injuries: Bugaboo has received 121 reports of the stroller’s brakes failing. No injuries have been reported.


Description: Bugaboo Bee strollers have item code 580210 on a label on the back of the seat and item code 50100 on a label on the plastic support under the seat. The strollers were sold in blue, dark khaki, pink, red, yellow, and black. “bugaboo® bee” is printed on the left side of the seat. Sold at: Juvenile product retailers nationwide and on various Web sites from August 2007 through April 2009 for about $530.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using the strollers immediately and contact Bugaboo to receive a free repair kit. To order the bracket kit, go to www.bugaboo.com and fill in the special order form or contact Bugaboo customer service.

Name of Product: Nordstrom Girls' Shoes


Units: About 31,000


Importer: Nordstrom, of Seattle, Washington.


Hazard: Surface paint on the outer sole of these shoes contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.


Incidents/Injuries: None reported.


Description: The recall includes six styles of Nordstrom-brand shoes for girls. "Clarice-Fab" are bone-colored flats with a bow. "Eva-Fab" are bone-colored T-strap sandals. "Fern-Fab" are ankle-strap sandals sold in bone, pink, white, blue polka-dot or pink polka-dot. "Lilly-Fab" are fuchsia gingham ballerina flats with a bow. "Rita-Fab" are ankle-strap dress shoes sold in ivory linen, pink linen, white linen, cafe satin, silver satin or white satin. "Vivi-Fab" are open-toe dress shoes in bone, white, green polka-dot, lavender polka-dot or yellow polka-dot. The shoes were sold in girls' sizes 10 through big kids 7. All shoes have "NORDSTROM" embossed on the insole. Only the colors identified above are subject to the recall.


Sold exclusively at: Nordstrom stores nationwide and Nordstrom.com from September 2006 through February 2009 for between about $35 and $45.


Manufactured in: China.


Remedy: Consumers should take the recalled shoes away from children immediately and return them to any Nordstrom store for a full refund or exchange.

Harajuku Lovers 'Ready Steady Love' Girls' Hoody

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Jerry Leigh Apparel is recalling two styles of its Harajuku Lovers sweatshirts. The sweatshirts are being recalled because they have non-functional strings sewn into the hood, which pose a potential strangulation hazard.


The following styles are included in the recall:

Little Girls’ sizes: 4, 6


The sweatshirts were sold in the Kids' Wear department at Nordstrom stores and online from August 2008 through September 2008. The sweatshirts came in white with a black and yellow cartoon pattern.


We ask that you take the recalled sweatshirts away from children and return them to any Nordstrom store for a full refund or in exchange for a similar item.

Hazard: The flower embellishments on the sandals can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Incidents/Injuries: None reported.

Description: The recalled girl's sandals are leather with attached leather flowers and were sold under the "Cadence-Lea" and "Trio-Lea" names. "Cadence-Lea" sandals are white, light green or silver. "Trio-Lea" sandals are white or silver. They were sold in girls' sizes 5 through 12. Nordstrom is printed on the sandals.

Product Recall: Micros Boys' Hooded Sweatshirts

URGENT GEAR MICROS BOYS' HOODED SWEATSHIRTS
NO INJURIES REPORTED

Urgent Gear, Inc. is asking customers who purchased any of the Micros boys' 100% cotton hooded sweatshirts from November 2007 to December 2007 to repair them by removing the drawstring. The hoodies came in black with a peace sign patch and an "MCC Micros" patch on the chest in silver with a silver stitched design on the front and in gray with skulls on the front, in boys' sizes SML to XL. Nordstrom has removed the drawstrings of its remaining stock and will continue to sell the sweatshirts. If your sweatshirt does not have a drawstring in the hood, it is not subject to this repair and can be used without further action taken.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued voluntary guidelines recommending against the use of drawstrings in hooded children's upper outerwear, which can lead to strangulation or other injuries. This recall/repair is being conducted voluntarily to prevent the possibility of injury.

Parents should immediately stop their children from using the hoody until the drawstring has been pulled out. Those who wish to return or exchange the hoody should take it to their nearest Nordstrom store.

Product Recall: Peachie Keen Reversible Fleece Zip Hoody

Seventy Two, Inc. is asking costumers who purchased any of the Bonafide Love brand reversible fleece zip hoodies from November 1, 2007, to December 10, 2007, to repair them by removing the drawstring. The hoodies came in a cement-colored robot pattern and a sage-colored hearts-and-stars pattern in girls' sizes S to XL. Nordstrom has removed the drawstrings of its remaining stock and will continue to sell both sweatshirts. If your sweatshirt does not have a drawstring in the hood, it is not subject to this repair and can be used without further action taken.

Name of Product: Nordstrom At Home Taper and Votive Candles

Hazard: The candle's exterior coating can ignite, posing a fire hazard.

Incidents/Injuries: Nordstrom has received four reports of flames or smoke coming from the candle or the exterior coating. One instance of property damage was reported but no injuries have been reported.

Description: This recall involves Nordstrom At Home 10-inch taper candles and Nordstrom At Home votive candles. The taper candles were sold under style numbers NR-07059G and NR-07059S. The votive candles were sold under style numbers NR-07001G and NR-07001S. The candles came in silver and gold and were sold in a box of six. The style number can be found on a sticker on the bottom of the packaging.

Sold at: Nordstrom stores nationwide from September 2007 through December 2007 for about $18 for the taper candles and about $12 for the votive candles.

Remedy: Consumers should stop using these candles immediately and return them to any Nordstrom store for a full refund.

Incidents/Injuries: Nordstrom has received one report of the zipper pull detaching. No injuries have been reported.

Description: The recalled jackets were sold in Infant, Toddler and Youth sizes. They are navy colored and long sleeved. They have a zipper front with the flag of England embroidered on the left shoulder and an "England" patch on the left chest. There are two zipper front pockets in addition to the zipper front. "Pine Peak Blues" is printed on a label inside the jacket.

Sold: Nordstrom stores from November 2006 through April 2007 for about $35.

Remedy: Consumers should immediately take the recalled jacket away from children and return it to any Nordstrom store for a full refund.
