| NORDSTROM RACK OPENS NEW STORE AT DULLES TOWN CROSSING
SEATTLE, Wash. - November 15, 2001 - Nordstrom Rack, the off-price retail division of leading fashion specialty retailer Nordstrom, Inc., today opened a new store at Dulles Town Crossing in Sterling, Virginia. Nordstrom Rack offers customers savings of 30 to 75 percent on quality name brand merchandise for the entire family. Located at 45575 Dulles Eastern Plaza, Nordstrom Rack at Dulles Town Crossing is approximately one half mile from Dulles Town Center where Nordstrom plans to open a full line store in fall 2002.

Nordstrom Rack first opened in 1973 on the lower level of the downtown Seattle flagship store as a clearance center for Nordstrom merchandise. Today Nordstrom Rack offers merchandise transferred from Nordstrom and Nordstrom.com, as well as a wide selection of brand name apparel, shoes and accessories for the entire family. Customers shopping with Nordstrom Rack may choose from over 35,000 pairs of shoes and, for added convenience, may have their purchases altered at the on-site tailor shop.
