NORDSTROM TO OPEN FOURTH VIRGINIA STORE AT DULLES TOWN CENTER ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 6
SEATTLE, August 5, 2002 - Nordstrom will open its doors at Dulles Town Center in Sterling on Friday, September 6 and will become the fourth full-line Nordstrom store in Virginia. The new two level, 144,000 square foot store will offer Loudoun and Fairfax area customers a selection of classic and contemporary merchandise, exclusive and nationally renowned brands and extensive sizing for the whole family.
"We are excited to become a member of the Loudoun and Fairfax communities and offering our customers a store a little closer to home," said Amy Simpson, Nordstrom store manager at Dulles Town Center. "Our store will provide customers with a shopping experience that includes a mix of each season's hottest contemporary fashions as well as an outstanding collection of looks that appeal to those with more classic tastes. We hope to offer something for everyone in terms of price, size and style."
Inside the store customers will be greeted by an open, skylight capped central escalator area. The merchandise environment will showcase apparel, shoes and accessories in approachable and accessible ways descriptive of lifestyle to make shopping easier and more convenient. Other amenities include a Façonnable boutique, Personal Touch wardrobing and shopping service, Open-sell Cosmetics, a family restroom, live piano music and an In-House Cafe and Coffee Bar.
The new Nordstrom draws upon the architectural influences of the Capitol region while maintaining a distinct Nordstrom appearance. As with all new Nordstrom stores, Callison Architecture surveyed the region's Federal-style design so that it would complement the surrounding environment. A canopied portico will welcome customers and serve as the store's main entrance.
