NORDSTROM ANNOUNCES FIRST FULL-LINE STORE IN LAS VEGAS
New store to open at Fashion Show Mall
SEATTLE (May 23, 2000) - Seattle-based Nordstrom (NYSE: JWN), one of the nation's leading fashion specialty retailers, today announced it has signed a letter of intent with the Rouse Company to build a three-level store of approximately 200,000 square feet at Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas, Nevada. The store is tentatively scheduled to open in fall 2002 or spring 2003 and will be the retailer's first full-line store in Nevada.

"We've received many requests to open a Nordstrom store in Las Vegas so we are particularly happy to have the opportunity to become part of this vibrant community."
Nordstrom's current national expansion plans focus primarily on the country's top 50 metropolitan markets. Future store openings including downtown Chicago (2000), Boca Raton, Fla.
