NIKE GOLF, NORDSTROM ANNOUNCE AGREEMENT FOR EXCLUSIVE DISTRIBUTION OF TIGER WOODS COLLECTION
BEAVERTON, Ore. - Jan. 22, 2001 - Tiger Woods’ clothing line soon will be on the prowl at Nordstrom stores.
Nike Golf and Nordstrom, Inc., one of the nation’s leading fashion specialty retailers, have agreed to a partnership in which Nordstrom will be the exclusive fashion specialty retailer of Nike Golf’s Tiger Woods apparel collection. First deliveries of the merchandise will hit Nordstrom stores in April.
"The Tiger Woods collection is our premium line, and we wanted to expand our distribution channels by partnering with a premium retailer that’s as passionate about innovation and customers as we are," said David Hagler, director of apparel for Nike Golf. "Nordstrom is an amazing company that’s consumer-focused and service-driven. They’re an industry leader with a solid track record as a forerunner in bringing hot new products to market."
The Tiger Woods collection represents Nike Golf’s top-of-the-line apparel. From its subdued stripes to its signature Chianti color schemes, the Tiger Woods collection strives to emulate the grace, excellence and exuberance of its namesake with modern adaptations of classic looks. Pieces include three-button and fully-buttoned polo shirts in thin stripes and jaquards, sweater knit polos and vests, knit shirts and pleated pants.

"The line is fresh yet traditional, and we expect it will broaden the appeal and excitement of our mix to golf and classic sportswear fans alike."
The companies are discussing plans to celebrate the collection’s debut in Nordstrom stores. In addition to Nordstrom, the Tiger Woods collection will still be available in finer pro shops and resorts.
