NORDSTROM.COM CUSTOMERS MAKE ROOM FOR SHOES
Five Grand-Prize Winners Receive Shoes For Life*
SEATTLE - (March 22, 2000) Nordstrom.com (www.nordstrom.com), a subsidiary of Nordstrom, Inc. (NYSE: JWN), today announced the winners of its Make Room for Shoes Sweepstakes contest in which five grand-prize winners were awarded Shoes for Life; up to $15,000 worth of shoes. Twenty-five first-prize winners were awarded up to $1,000 worth of shoes for one year. While winners hale from places as far apart as Federal Way, Washington to Flowood, Mississippi, they all have one thing in common - a passion for shoes! More than 100,000 people entered the contest from across the nation.
"I heard about the contest on my local news and logged right on to the site. Since I am such a huge shoe fanatic, I loved the idea of winning shoes for life from Nordstrom," said Kimberly House of Federal Way, Washington. "As a new mom, it will be great to be able outfit my daughter in new shoes until she is in her early teens, and I can get myself some of the newest, strappy designer sandals that I wouldn't normally consider getting for myself."
The lucky winners will be able to select their new footwear from an inventory of more than 30 million pairs of shoes for men, women and children that is available via the Nordstrom.com site. The contest launched the successful NORDSTROMshoes.com Website (http://nordstromshoes.com).
"When we launched NORDSTROMshoes.com this past November, we wanted to create a site where long-time Nordstrom customers and new customers could find a wide selection of shoes that suit their moods and lifestyle," said Dan Nordstrom, CEO, Nordstrom.com. "The Make Room for Shoes Sweepstakes prompted many people who were not familiar with our world-famous shoe selection to check out the site and learn about the exceptional online experience, selection, quality and value that is available online at Nordstrom.com."
All winners will be able to choose shoes that include offerings from more than 40 vendors including: Allen Edmonds, BCBG, Cole Haan, Dr. Martens, Kenneth Cole, New Balance, Skechers, Stuart Weitzman and Stride Rite, in addition to Nordstrom brands like Classiques or Preview, Callaway Golf Apparel by Nordstrom, Baby N Collection, N-Kids, Norsport and Softwear.
