NORDSTROM RACK TO OPEN FIRST STORE IN MICHIGAN
SEATTLE - (March 14, 2000) Nordstrom Inc., one of the nation’s leading fashion specialty retailers, today announced it will open a Nordstrom Rack store in Troy, Michigan on July 14, 2000. The 36,000 square foot store will be located in Troy Market Place at the intersection of Big Beaver Road and Rochester Road. The store will be the first Nordstrom Rack to open in Michigan. Nordstrom opened a full line store at Somerset Collection North in 1996.
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom Inc. and offers clearance merchandise transferred from Nordstrom full-line stores. The company also offers name brand merchandise for women, men and children at 30 - 75 percent off regular prices — including one of the most extensive selections of off-price brand-name shoes.
"When Nordstrom Rack opens in Troy Market Place we will be able to offer customers in the Troy area another opportunity to shop with Nordstrom," said Sue Tabor, executive vice president, Nordstrom Rack general manager. Other merchants who have signed on to Troy Market Place include Home Depot Expo Design Center, Organized Living, REI, Linens ‘N Things, Home Elements, Bath and Body Works and the Men’s Warehouse.
